How it works, and where not to trust it
Practising clinical reasoning on fictional teaching cases. You read a case, commit to an answer, and then see the reasoning worked through — including the parts that are easy to get wrong. It is study material, not a tool for the care of real patients.
Case Bank is a set of ready-made cases with multiple-choice questions: you answer, you are marked, and the explanation follows. It works with no network. Case Workup is the other direction — you build a case yourself, field by field, and the app works the reasoning through for you. That one needs a connection.
No. Everything works signed out, and your progress is kept on this device. An account exists only so your plan follows you to another phone — it stores your plan, region and language, and nothing clinical.
The ones for the region you pick. You are currently set to 🌍 International, so answers are anchored to WHO, international societies. 22 guideline entries for that region ship inside the app, and the model is asked to cite only from them. Change the region under Account and the answers change with it.
Check it. Every citation is compared against the guidance bundled for your region, and anything the app cannot find there is marked with a warning so you know to look it up at source. Asking a model to cite only from a list is a request, not a guarantee.
Yes. The reasoning is generated, and generated reasoning can be confidently wrong. Treat every answer the way you would treat a confident colleague you do not yet know: read it, check what surprises you, and look it up when it matters. Nothing here has been reviewed case by case by a clinician.
No, and please do not. Preceptor is built for fictional teaching cases and it is not a medical device. Do not type, paste or upload anything that identifies a real person — not a name, not a hospital number, not a report page with a header on it.
Your preferences stay on this device. When you press Generate in Case Workup, the case text is sent to the AI provider to produce the answer, along with a random device id used only to cap how many requests one device makes per day — nothing else leaves the app, and neither the case text nor the answer is kept. Your progress stays on the device too, unless you sign in: then your per-case scores sync to your account so they follow you between devices.
The whole Case Bank, offline and without limit, and 3 Case Workup analyses. The counter is on the Workup screen and under Account.
The button says why it is disabled, in a line directly underneath it: it needs a presenting complaint, it needs the limitations accepted, or your free analyses are used up. Case Workup also needs a connection — the Case Bank is the part that works offline.
Unlimited analyses, every guideline region, and the full reasoning. It is not ready and there is no date — when there is one, we will give it.
In the meantime, using the app is what keeps it running: every analysis costs money to generate, and the free version's usage is what pays that bill. It is not a favour — it is what keeps this standing.
