What Preceptor is
  • Preceptor is study material for medical and health students. It works on fictional teaching cases, written for teaching, with a known answer.
  • Its purpose is to teach clinical reasoning: why one diagnosis is more likely, how you get there, and which criteria support each decision.
What Preceptor is not
  • It is not a medical device and carries no CE mark.
  • It is not intended for the diagnosis, prevention, monitoring or treatment of any person.
  • It must not be used to make decisions about a real patient, nor to produce documents that enter a clinical record.
  • It does not replace training, supervision, current guidelines or clinical judgement.
Do not enter patient data
  • Do not enter names, dates of birth, health service numbers, or anything that identifies a real person.
  • The cases you work on must be fictional or training material. Anyone entering third-party data is responsible for that use.
AI-generated content
  • Explanations are generated by a language model and can be wrong, including wrong in ways that read as plausible.
  • Always check against the guidelines cited and against primary sources before accepting any statement as correct.
  • Guidelines change. A cited standard may have been revised after the case was written.
Emergencies
  • In a medical emergency, contact emergency services (112 in Portugal and the EU, 999 in the UK, 911 in the US).
Free plan and subscription
  • The free plan includes a limited number of full analyses. All other features remain available.
  • If and when a paid subscription exists, the payment, renewal and cancellation terms will be shown before any charge.
Liability
  • The service is provided as is, with no warranty of accuracy, completeness or fitness for any purpose.
  • To the extent permitted by law, there is no liability for decisions taken on the basis of the content shown.
Age
  • Intended for users aged 18 and over.
