Preceptor is a study tool. It collects no clinical data and stores no cases. It runs no analytics of its own; the Android version shows Google ads, and that is described below.
You can use the entire app without an account and without providing any personal data.
What stays only on your device
Your chosen language.
Your chosen guideline region.
How many analyses you have used, for the free limit.
Your case progress, for as long as you have no account.
Nothing on this list leaves your device. Clearing the app's data removes all of it.
What is sent when you request an analysis
The case text you write, or the teaching case you select, is sent to Google's Gemini API to generate the explanation.
That text is meant for fictional study cases. Do not enter real patient data or anything that identifies a person.
A random device identifier goes with each request, so we can cap how many requests one device makes per day. It is held on the server for up to 48 hours. It is not linked to your name and is not shared.
The network address the request comes from is used for the same purpose, with a generous per-network ceiling, and is discarded after the same 48 hours. It is not stored beyond that and is not used to identify you.
Handling of those requests is governed by Google's terms for the Gemini API.
Ads
The Android app shows ads served by Google AdMob. The website shows ads served by Google AdSense. They are two separate products and neither runs on the other's platform.
On the website, units are placed one at a time on pages chosen by hand. Google's auto ads — which decide for themselves where to appear — are switched off, precisely because they would decide to put one beside a dose calculation.
For that, Google receives — in the app — your device's advertising identifier, and in both cases your network address and data about which ads you were shown and which you tapped. That data goes to Google and is governed by Google's privacy policy, not by this one.
In the European Union you are asked for consent before any ad is loaded, in the app and on the website, and you may choose non-personalised ads. In the app you can change that choice at any time under Account.
There are no ads inside a clinical analysis, between a question and its answer, or beside a treatment plan — in the app or on the website. That is not a design preference: an ad next to a treatment recommendation reads as endorsement, and it is not one.
The text of your cases and the analyses you receive are NOT sent to the ad network and are not used to select ads.
If you create an account
Accounts are optional and exist so your plan and your progress follow you between devices.
In that case we store: your email, your plan, your region, your language, and — for each case you work through — how many questions you got right, how many there were, and how many times you have run it.
We do not store the text of your answers, the cases you write, or the analyses you receive.
Hosting is on Supabase. Account → Delete my account erases the account and all of that progress immediately; progress kept on this device is cleared separately from the same screen.
What we do not do
No advertising and no sharing with advertisers.
No selling of data to anyone.
No storing of the case text you write or the analyses you receive.
No tracking cookies.
Minors
The app is intended for users aged 18 and over.
